I’m grateful for this beautiful notebook I bought before lock down –  a study of Van Gogh’s Almond Blossom, so vibrant and blue – my favourite colour …I’ve kept myself sane during all of the lock down’s writing poems, positive quotes and teachings in this beautiful book. Its been a real life saver during 2020 – 2021 – alongside the ability to write and imagine poems to go inside it.

The vanishing frailty 

Oppressive beauty of snow

Its weight felt keenly 

By those trudging home

Sleet

Neither Ice nor Water

Seeping into clothing

Clinging to fibres

Blurring the lines of hurried commuters

Fog

Winters breath

Clung about the day

Stubborn, unwanted visitor

Resisting movement
