RESIDENTS BY MING DE NASTY
PIPPA
I’ve only just moved to Liverpool from Wirral, but I’m Merseyside born and bred and proud.
Being transgender, I’ve not received abuse here like I have in other cities.
My community was football, but since the FA transgender ban on women’s football, I have lost touch with friends and the comradery of my team and other teams. It was hard to come and support when I just wanted to play, so I left.
If I had one wish, it would be to be a part of and feel wanted in a community.
After a mental health breakdown due to football one team deleted and blocked me, I no longer feel safe in the football environment.
On the plus side, since my ban from playing football, I have started with a drama improv group which is so welcoming and I’m making so many new friends.
