Ames

I’m Ames and I go by she/they,  I’m 27 years old and live in Wavertree. Growing up in  Liverpool, I couldn’t wait to fly the nest and go explore the big wide world. Well, I left for a bit, have done a good bit of exploring, but I’m so proud to say Liverpool is my home. It’s the place where I became Ames. I never imagined my heart would be so full walking the same roads I spent a nervous childhood, feeling just a little bit different but not knowing why. I  have found my queer community here. This city has given me an abundance of joy from my closest friends to strangers on the dance floor at 2 am. I might be biased because it’s the home I’ve always known, but I don’t know if I could find a place quite like it.
