RESIDENTS BY MING DE NASTY
MARK
I’m a gay man, I’m 25 and I live near Sefton Park.
I love living in a city with people who embrace good times and are proud of who they are. I was welcomed into the LGBTQ+ community in Liverpool with open arms. I joined a LGBTQ+ Running Club, Liverpool Front Runners, and immediately felt welcomed and included. Since then, I have met amazing LGBTQ+ individuals, and I am happily living with my boyfriend, whom I met when I moved here!
After marching in Liverpool Pride this summer, I felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of people who came to showcase their pride and support their friends, family and more. LGBTQ+ people in Liverpool are here and proud, no matter what anyone may think. On the streets, I am always happy to see queer couples holding hands, LGBTQ+ people dressing as their true selves and being proud of who they are.
Moving to Liverpool after getting my degree was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have built a life for myself here, Liverpool is definitely my home away from home, I am proud to say that I live here and could not have picked a better city to live in.
