As a Fine Art student it has often intrigued me how much of my university studies in art are taken up by things that are not actually creating art. This short series ‘Studies in Art’ is a snapshot, showing the narrative of one week of the background work needed to create artistic work, including research, coursework, reading, preparing walls, attending lectures, installing and invigilating exhibitions through a series of self-portraits.

I am hoping that this will allow the viewer a glimpse into the hard work that is involved in being a creative, both during and after the actual creation of art and also to illustrate the academic work behind the artistic practice.
