Junctioner, is a collaborative project between myself and my Grandad, who moved out of his home in the Junction, Saint Helens, and into a care home after a sudden cancer diagnosis. Above all, he missed his home – “the pit”, as he calls it – more than anything, I took these photographs as a way for him to connect with his home again, and see that it was okay, that it was being cleaned and maintained, and enjoyed still whilst he came to terms with life in a care home. There are also some photographs from the care home that connect the two places.
