Viktor Marushchenko, from the Dreamland Donbas series, 2002-2003

The heroes and heroines of Marushchenko’s photographs are the illegal coal miners of the Donetsk region who work in this dangerous business trying to make ends meet. It is a story ‘about the lives of people who lived in oblivion’, Marushchenko said.
