The Story Of Liverpool Through Its Trees
About This Project

SILVER BEECH

The Silver Beech is my tree because it provides a home and food for the birds. It is a lovely, majestic, beautiful tree and it’s good for the air too. That’s what we need in the city centre. It helps us with our garden, the birds act as pest control and they keep the caterpillar numbers down.

The garden is everything to me, it is organic therapy. During the lockdown, if it wasn’t here I’d have gone downhill and would have been stuck in the house, just watching TV. I couldn’t have done it. This is a sanctuary in the middle of the town centre. You can come down here, take a seat and you wouldn’t believe how quiet it is. When the sun is shining, you could be anywhere in the world.
