RESIDENTS BY MING NE NASTY
BEIJA
I’m pansexual aged 29 and I live in the Georgian Quarter.
I love being in Liverpool. I migrated from Essex and never looked back. I’ve been here 11 years now, and even my parents and sister now live here. I know there are bad areas of any place, but I feel very safe in Liverpool for the most part. I love how accepting Scousers are. Hairy armpits? No one cares. I don’t receive half the hateful comments and unwanted attention about my appearance as I did in Essex. I love that I can wear what I want, skimpy leotards, garish clothes, and no one really bats an eyelid. I rarely get bad attention in Liverpool, I feel safe here, but appreciate not everyone does, and I know that I am very lucky to have been born in the right body for me, I’m privileged and I know that.
The world isn’t perfect and neither is Liverpool, but I do think that Liverpool as a city makes a bigger effort to be accepting than most and is rightfully loud about it.
